Akasa Air has announced special direct flights to Ahmedabad from Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai to meet rising demand ahead of the cricket final scheduled in the city. The additional services will operate on May 31 and June 1, 2026, alongside the airline’s regular Ahmedabad schedule from nine domestic and international destinations.
The move is designed to help cricket fans travel to Ahmedabad for the match and return soon after, with a focus on short-stay, event-linked travel. On May 31, Akasa Air will run a morning service from Bengaluru and an afternoon service from Navi Mumbai, allowing passengers to arrive in Ahmedabad before the final begins. Return flights will depart Ahmedabad in the early hours of June 1, giving travellers flexibility to complete a round trip around the event.
According to the schedule announced by the airline, flight QP 6892 will depart Bengaluru at 09:30 hrs on May 31 and arrive in Ahmedabad at 11:50 hrs. Flight QP 6882 will leave Navi Mumbai at 14:45 hrs and land in Ahmedabad at 16:15 hrs on the same day. For the return leg, flight QP 6885 will depart Ahmedabad for Navi Mumbai at 03:10 hrs on June 1 and arrive at 04:45 hrs. Flight QP 6887 will depart Ahmedabad for Bengaluru at 04:10 hrs and reach at 06:35 hrs.
Along with the special flights, Akasa Air is offering onboard services tailored to the occasion. Passengers can use SkyScore, the airline’s in-flight feature that lets guests follow live match scores during the journey. Selected services tied to the event will also feature SkyLights, the cabin lighting system powered by Boeing Sky Interior, displayed in tricolour-themed illumination.
The airline’s decision reflects the growing trend of event-driven travel in India, where airlines add temporary capacity around major sporting events to capture increased demand.
