Does Backrooms Have a Post-Credits Scene? What to Know After the Movie

A24’s horror film Backrooms is now in theaters, and many viewers are asking whether the movie includes a mid-credits or post-credits scene. The answer is no: Backrooms does not feature any scene after the credits, so audiences do not need to stay in their seats once the film ends.
The movie is a thriller centered on a therapist who sets out to find her missing patient. It marks the feature directorial debut of YouTuber Kane Parsons, whose earlier online found-footage anthology work helped inspire the film’s style and concept. The project draws on the internet-born “Backrooms” mythos, which began circulating in 2019 after a 4chan post invited users to share unsettling images. One of the most iconic responses was a yellow-tinted, empty room that later became closely associated with the horror concept.
The original description of the Backrooms imagines a person “noclipping” out of reality and becoming trapped in a vast maze of endless empty rooms filled with the smell of damp carpet, harsh fluorescent lighting, and an unsettling sense that something may be nearby. That eerie premise has since grown into a recognizable piece of online horror folklore and now serves as the basis for the new film.
The cast of Backrooms is led by Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve, with supporting roles played by Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, Lukita Maxwell, and Avan Jogia. Duplass has recently appeared in The Morning Show and is also known for co-writing and starring in the Creep film series and its spinoff The Creep Tapes. Bennett appears in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Maxwell stars in Shrinking, and Jogia, known for Victorious, recently appeared in 56 Days.
For moviegoers curious about whether they should wait through the credits, the answer is straightforward: there is no bonus scene at the end of Backrooms. The film concludes without any extra footage, teasing, or hidden coda.
