UFC: Paddy Pimblett’s shocking weigh-in at 7 weeks before showdown with Benoît Saint Denis

Paddy Pimblett has revealed an eye-catching weight figure seven weeks before his highly anticipated UFC 329 fight against Benoît Saint Denis in Las Vegas. In a vlog posted to his YouTube channel, the British lightweight said he currently weighs 86.6 kg, or about 191 pounds, putting him nearly 16 kilograms above the 71 kg limit for the UFC lightweight division. The fight is scheduled for July 11 during International Fight Week, and Pimblett will need to undergo a significant cut before the official weigh-in.

The Liverpool fighter is well known for the dramatic changes in his body weight between fights, and this latest update once again highlighted just how much he typically gains during time away from competition. Despite the large gap between his current weight and the lightweight limit, Pimblett appeared calm and focused on the challenge ahead. He said he was pleased to have an opponent and a date locked in, explaining that the main priority is making weight and being fully ready for the bout.

Pimblett’s approach to weight management has long been one of the most talked-about aspects of his UFC career. He has built a reputation as one of the organization’s most extreme examples of offseason weight gain followed by a steep training-camp cut. Even so, he has never missed weight in his eight UFC appearances, showing that he has repeatedly been able to bring his body back down to the lightweight threshold on time.

The upcoming fight represents an important moment for Pimblett’s career. In his last UFC appearance, he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Justin Gaethje, which ended his seven-fight winning streak in the promotion. That setback also dropped him to sixth place in the UFC’s lightweight rankings. Benoît Saint Denis, meanwhile, enters the matchup ranked fifth in the division, making the contest a significant clash between two top contenders.

For Pimblett, the fight is not only a chance to rebound from defeat but also an opportunity to prove that his unconventional weight fluctuations do not affect his performance when it matters most. With just over seven weeks remaining, attention will now turn to whether he can complete another demanding cut and arrive in Las Vegas ready to compete at championship level intensity.
