Ali Fazal and Sonali Bendre’s Raakh Sets June Prime Video Premiere
Prime Video will launch the Hindi-language investigative thriller “Raakh” globally on June 12. The series stars Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre, and Aamir Bashir, and follows an investigating officer searching for two missing teenagers whose disappearance has shattered their family and raised tension across an entire city. As the investigation deepens, the officer is pulled into a disturbing world marked by violence and human depravity.
Directed and executive produced by Prosit Roy, known for “Paatal Lok,” the series is created, written, and co-directed by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket, with dialogues by Ayush Trivedi. The project is produced by Deepak Dhar, Rishi Negi, Mrinalini Jain, and Shyam Rathi under Endemol Shine India, in association with BhaDiPa.
Prime Video India’s head of originals, Nikhil Madhok, praised the series as a powerful and emotionally intense narrative. He highlighted Ali Fazal’s performance as an officer consumed by a case that threatens to destabilize his worldview, while also noting the layered performances of Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir.
Prosit Roy said “Raakh” was one of the most creatively fulfilling and emotionally demanding projects he has worked on. He described it as more than a crime thriller, saying it blends a gripping manhunt with an unflinching look at trauma and the darker impulses of human nature. Roy also said the creators built a meticulously researched world filled with moral ambiguity, and he credited Fazal, Bendre, and Bashir for bringing intensity and realism to their roles.
The series is positioned as a dark, character-driven thriller centered on grief, violence, and the psychological toll of a high-stakes investigation. The June 12 release marks one of Prime Video India’s upcoming original series launches for the year.
