Alex Eala Makes Forbes’ 30 Under 30 List

Filipino tennis star Alexandra Eala has been named by Forbes to its “30 Under 30” list for sports and entertainment, a recognition that highlights emerging talent across athletics and the entertainment industry. The list was released on Thursday and described by Forbes as featuring “the next generation of talent—on court and the screen.”
Eala, who recently turned 21, was recognized for her rapid rise over the past year, led by her breakthrough performance at the 2025 Miami Open. Forbes also pointed to her growing influence on tennis in the Philippines, where basketball and volleyball are traditionally the most popular sports. Her success, the profile said, has helped generate fresh interest in tennis among Filipino fans.
In the article, titled “The Gen Z Athletes And Music Artists Rewriting The Playbook,” Forbes noted that Eala “got Filipinos fired up about tennis” after breaking into the Women’s Tennis Association Top 50 last year. The recognition reflects not only her results on the court but also her role in inspiring a new wave of support for the sport in her home country.
Eala has often spoken about the strong backing she receives from Filipino fans, particularly those living overseas. In an email to Forbes, she said the support has stood out to her during matches and has added a unique energy to the sport. She said tennis can sometimes feel quiet and serious, making the crowd’s enthusiasm especially meaningful.
Currently ranked No. 37 in the world, Eala has continued to establish herself among the top players on the women’s tour. She recently completed her run at the 2026 French Open, where she represented the Philippines on one of tennis’s biggest stages.
Her inclusion in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list places her alongside other notable young figures from sports and entertainment, including Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, chess grandmaster Divya Deshmukh, golfers Shannon Tan and Minjee Lee, and sprinter Gout Gout.
Eala’s recognition adds another milestone to a career that has already drawn attention both in the Philippines and internationally. As her ranking and profile continue to rise, she remains one of the most prominent Filipino athletes competing on the global tennis stage.
