Andy Robertson Close to Tottenham Move After Liverpool Exit

Tottenham are close to signing Scotland full-back Andy Robertson after his departure from Liverpool, with an agreement in principle understood to be in place as final details are worked out. The 32-year-old brought his Liverpool career to an end in the club’s final match against Brentford on Sunday after confirming he would leave when his contract expires this summer.
Robertson is expected to join Spurs after a hugely successful spell at Anfield, where he made 378 appearances and won major honours including two Premier League titles and the Champions League. He also became one of Liverpool’s most consistent and influential performers, establishing himself as one of the top left-backs in European football during his time with the club.
Tottenham had previously shown strong interest in Robertson during the January transfer window. A deal between the clubs was reportedly agreed at that stage, but Liverpool later withdrew from the move after failing to bring Kostas Tsimikas back from his loan spell at Roma. That collapse left Robertson in place at Liverpool until the end of the season.
The move to Spurs would offer Robertson a fresh challenge after nearly a decade at Liverpool, where he developed into a senior leader and an experienced winner. His arrival would also add proven top-level pedigree to Tottenham’s squad as they continue reshaping the team.
Robertson’s international career remains significant as well. He has earned 92 caps for Scotland and is set to captain his country at this summer’s World Cup. His leadership and experience at both club and international level are expected to make him an important addition wherever he continues his career.
Tottenham, who secured their top-flight status on the final day of the season with a win over Everton under new manager Roberto de Zerbi, are continuing to strengthen ahead of the new campaign. Robertson’s potential arrival would be one of the club’s most notable moves of the summer and a clear sign of their ambition to bring in established talent with a winning background.
