Thunder’s Jared McCain enters starting lineup Tuesday

McCain will make his first start of the postseason on Tuesday in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against San Antonio, according to a report from Josue Pavon of ClutchPoints.com. Oklahoma City head coach Mark Daigneault is expected to adjust the rotation because Jalen Williams is sidelined with a hamstring injury and Ajay Mitchell is out with a calf issue.
McCain is set to replace Cason Wallace in the backcourt, giving the Thunder another scoring option and perimeter threat alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The move adds more offensive firepower to Oklahoma City’s starting group as it looks to gain control in a critical home playoff game.
The guard enters the matchup coming off a quiet four-point performance in Game 4, but he has already shown his scoring potential in the series. In Game 3, McCain delivered 24 points and provided a reminder of the burst he can bring when given more opportunity. With the Thunder facing a pivotal Game 5, he is expected to have a meaningful role and could see increased shot volume in the starting lineup.
