Paddington: The Musical Announces Broadway Run for 2027, Tickets on Sale Now

Paddington: The Musical is set to make its Broadway debut in 2027 after becoming one of the biggest stage successes in London’s West End. The Olivier Award-winning production has been a major hit in the United Kingdom, with performances selling out for months and generating strong audience demand. New York theatergoers will soon have the chance to see the show when it begins preview performances on Tuesday, March 30, 2027, ahead of an official opening night on Sunday, April 18, 2027. The Broadway run will be staged at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, the current home of Moulin Rouge.

Tickets for the production are already available, with prices starting at $69. Audience members looking for lower prices may be able to save by attending during the preview period before opening night. The show’s Broadway casting has not yet been announced.

Based on the beloved character Paddington Bear, the musical follows a small bear from Peru who arrives in London searching for a place to call home. After meeting the Brown family, Paddington is pulled into a world of adventure, discovery and unexpected connection. The story centers on themes of kindness, family, belonging and the idea that strangers can become family. It also introduces a conflict involving a mysterious villain who targets Paddington, prompting the Browns to launch a rescue mission and realize how important Paddington has become in their lives.

The production brings together a creative team led by composer Tom Fletcher, book writer Jessica Swale and director Luke Sheppard. Fletcher said the show’s West End response has been unlike anything he has experienced and described the Broadway transfer as a rare and special opportunity. Swale called Broadway the perfect place for Paddington’s heart-filled story, while Sheppard said bringing the show to New York is a dream come true and praised Paddington’s spirit of curiosity and adventure.

Producers Sonia Friedman and Eliza Lumley said Paddington has remained popular for generations because the character represents kindness, empathy, curiosity and belonging. They described the stage adaptation as a joyful theatrical adventure built around Tom Fletcher’s score and a story about finding home and community in unexpected places. They said they have been blown away by the response to the production so far and are excited to introduce it to Broadway audiences.

The announcement marks a significant transatlantic move for a production that has already established itself as a major theatrical hit in London. With its family-friendly appeal, emotional story and high-profile creative team, Paddington: The Musical is expected to draw strong attention when it arrives in New York in 2027.
