Employers Have Until June 20 to Submit eSocial Data for Salary Bonus, Says Labor Ministry

The Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) said employers have until June 20 to submit to eSocial the employment-link information related to the 2024 base year for the Abono Salarial wage bonus. Data sent by that deadline will be used to process payments scheduled for October 2026, including a potential payment date of October 15, 2026 for eligible workers.
The ministry said the deadline offers a second chance for employers who did not send worker information within the original period. It stressed that accurate and timely reporting is essential to identify employees who qualify for the benefit and to ensure they receive it.
To help employers comply, the MTE provides an Employer Guidance Manual for Abono Salarial, with detailed instructions for private companies and federal, state and municipal public bodies on how to submit the information correctly.
According to the ministry, workers may be eligible for Abono Salarial if they meet all legal requirements. These include being registered in PIS/Pasep for at least five years, counting from the date of the first employment link; having received, from employers contributing to PIS or Pasep, an average monthly pay of up to R$ 2,766.00 in the 2024 base year; having worked for at least 30 days, consecutive or not, during the year used for calculation; and having their 2024 data correctly reported by the employer in eSocial.
The MTE said payments through CAIXA Econômica Federal will be made primarily by deposit into a CAIXA checking account, savings account, or Digital Account. Payment may also be credited through the CAIXA Tem app, in a social digital savings account automatically opened by the bank. For workers without a CAIXA account, payment will be available through branches, lottery outlets, self-service terminals, CAIXA Aqui and other bank payment channels.
At Banco do Brasil, the wage bonus will be paid primarily by credit to a bank account, by TED transfer or PIX, or in person at bank branches for workers who are not account holders and do not have a PIX key.
The ministry said more information is available through its service channels, by calling 158, or at the regional offices of the Labor and Employment Superintendencies. It also said the full payment calendar can be accessed through official channels.
