Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Daughter Zahara Files to Drop Pitt From Her Name
Pax Jolie-Pitt, born on November 29, 2003, is the son of Angelina Jolie and one of her children adopted from Vietnam. In a 2007 interview with MSN, Jolie described his early childhood in an orphanage outside Ho Chi Minh City, saying he spent three-and-a-half years in one place, in one room, on a small iron bed with many other children, with little freedom or choice. She said the transition to life with her family was dramatic, as he suddenly went from an institutional setting to a home filled with siblings, including Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh, and the support of parents.
Jolie said Pax was learning English and adjusting to a new environment, describing him as loving, energetic, and “wild and free” after finally gaining freedom. She called him a tough and remarkable child. Over the years, Pax has remained close to the creative world of his family and has taken on small roles behind and in front of the camera. He voiced the character Yoo in Angelina Jolie’s 2016 animated film Kung Fu Panda 3 and later worked as a set photographer on First They Killed My Father. In 2018, he accompanied his mother to the Golden Globes, reflecting his growing presence in the public eye.
Pax has also contributed to other Jolie projects and family ventures. He helped decorate Atelier Jolie, the creative fashion collective and alteration company Jolie launched in New York City. He also worked in the assistant director department on the Italian set of Jolie’s film Without Blood, showing interest in film production beyond acting and voice work.
Jolie has spoken about working with her sons on set, including Pax and Maddox, saying that a film crew can feel like a family when it functions well, and that working together felt natural. Pax’s involvement in these projects suggests a practical interest in filmmaking and creative work, shaped by growing up around the industry.
His life story has drawn attention because it reflects both his early challenges and the opportunities that came after joining Jolie’s family. From his early years in Vietnam to his participation in film and design projects, Pax has gradually built a profile that blends privacy, family connection, and creative involvement.
