Man Killed in Silvertown Double Stabbing Remembered as a “Beautiful Spirit”

A 35-year-old man who died after a double stabbing in east London has been remembered by his family as someone with a “beautiful spirit and remarkable talent.”
Mark Orabiyi was found with fatal injuries in the garden of a property in Silvertown on Friday morning and was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Another man was also discovered with stab wounds at the scene.
In a tribute, his family described him as a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. They said he brought “love, light and joy” to the family and to everyone who knew him, adding that his loss has left them devastated.
Police launched a murder investigation following the incident. Three people were initially arrested on suspicion of murder, but the Metropolitan Police said updates had since been made in the case. A 27-year-old man has been released on bail while inquiries continue. A 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been released with no further action.
The stabbing in Silvertown has shocked the local community and left investigators working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attack. Officers have not yet publicly confirmed a motive, and inquiries remain ongoing.
