Peter Phillips Marries Harriet Sperling in Fairytale Wedding

Peter Phillips, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, has married Harriet Sperling in a private ceremony held on Saturday at All Saints Church in Kemble, in Gloucestershire’s Cotswold district. The wedding brought together several senior members of the British royal family, including King Charles III and Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Prince Edward and Sophie. Also present were Phillips’ mother, Princess Anne, her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, and Phillips’ sister Zara Tindall with her husband Mike Tindall.

According to reports, the event was intentionally low-key and marked by a close family gathering rather than a large public celebration. Prince Harry was not invited, and neither were Andrew Mountbatten Windsor or his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. A royal commentator said the decision regarding Harry appeared to stem from a lack of recent personal contact between him and Phillips, though Phillips is still described as having once been close to his cousin. The absence of Harry and other family members was said to have helped keep attention focused on the couple and the occasion itself.

Phillips, 48, was previously married to Autumn Kelly from 2008 until their separation in 2020. He is the father of two daughters from that marriage, Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14. With his new marriage, Phillips becomes the first of Queen Elizabeth’s grandchildren to remarry. Sperling was also previously married to fitness instructor Antonio St. John Sperling, and they share a 13-year-old daughter, Georgina. All three daughters were reportedly among the guests at the wedding.

The marriage marks a new chapter for Phillips and Sperling, whose families came together for the ceremony. The presence of children from both sides underscored the blended nature of the newly formed family. The couple’s wedding, while private, drew attention because of Phillips’ place in the royal family and the notable guests in attendance.
