This week’s New Music Friday roundup features major releases and live moments from some of the biggest names in music. Taylor Swift has released a new original song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” created for Disney and Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story 5. Written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff, the track will appear on the film’s soundtrack, which is set for release on June 19. The song marks a return to Swift’s country roots, and pre-sales have already begun for three CD editions that include special acoustic and piano versions of the single.
Madonna made headlines with a surprise performance in Times Square on June 4, turning the New York City landmark into an impromptu dance floor for more than 50,000 fans. The event also marked the first time she performed new music from her upcoming album, Confessions II, adding to anticipation around her return to the stage and studio.
iHeartMedia has announced the lineup for the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival, scheduled for September 18 and 19 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the two-day event will feature BTS, Benson Boone, Cardi B, Goo Goo Dolls, Kenny Chesney, Lainey Wilson, Major Lazer, Muse, Snoop Dogg, Weezer, Zara Larsson and more. Disney+ and Hulu will serve as the festival’s official streaming partners.
Storm Reid has officially launched her music career with the release of her debut single, “Clean Sweep,” through her independent label, 1720 Music. Reid said the project reflects a personal decision to pursue her dreams and create music without limiting expectations. She described the process as freeing and said she plans to keep focusing on making music and enjoying the creative process.
Tinashe has also returned with a new track, “Too Easy,” which she first previewed during a record-breaking DJ set at Coachella’s Do LaB stage.
