Epic Games Store Reveals This Week’s Free PC Games

Epic Games Store is offering two mystery PC games for free this week: Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest. The titles can be claimed for a limited time by anyone with an Epic Games Store account. The giveaway continues Epic’s recent pattern of keeping its weekly free games secret until they are revealed.

Rogue Waters is a turn-based roguelike centered on piracy, revenge, and ship-based adventure. Players take on the role of a pirate captain and recruit a crew of pirates while battling in multiple settings, including on land, aboard a ship, and in naval combat at sea. The game blends tactical combat with exploration and progression, giving players a swashbuckling pirate experience across different battle environments.

Songs of Conquest is also a turn-based strategy game, but with a fantasy focus. Players lead powerful magicians into magical conflicts, managing armies and fighting in battles shaped by spells and tactics. The game supports solo play as well as co-op multiplayer, allowing players to team up with friends. Since launching in May 2024, Songs of Conquest has built a strong reputation on Steam, where it has received about 12,000 “Very Positive” user reviews.

Both games are available to claim through the Epic Games Store at no cost. Once redeemed, they are added to a user’s library permanently, as with typical Epic weekly giveaways. The current free promotion ends on Thursday, June 11 at 11 a.m. EDT, giving players about a week to claim the two titles before they are replaced by the next free offerings.

The announcement continues a run of surprise game drops from Epic, which has recently moved away from the usual practice of revealing free titles ahead of time. This week’s selection includes two well-reviewed games in different genres, one focused on pirate-themed roguelike combat and the other on fantasy strategy and cooperative play. For PC players looking for new games to try without spending money, the promotion offers a chance to grab two popular titles during the limited-time window.
