Marcelo Faria is accused of assault with a pool cue, billiard balls, and paint buckets

Marcelo Faria was reportedly involved in an altercation during renovation work at a mansion in São Conrado, in Rio de Janeiro’s South Zone, last year, according to a police report filed at the Barra da Tijuca Police Station after a worker accused the actor of physical assault, insult, and throwing objects. The incident allegedly began when Faria arrived at the property and found construction materials placed on top of the home’s billiards table. Upset by the situation, he reportedly called the employee over to confront him, leading to a dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation, according to the case file.

The houseman told police he denied responsibility for the items left on the table, after which the actor allegedly called him “incompetent” and began attacking him. The report says Faria threw billiard cues and balls toward the worker, as well as paint buckets, sandpaper, and other nearby objects. The employee said he managed to dodge the items before being hit. Other workers at the residence reportedly witnessed the confrontation and confirmed the assault, according to the police record.

Police said they attempted to contact the actor at the property, but he did not answer officers. The worker later appeared at the police station and chose to press criminal charges against Faria for bodily injury and insult. The case was then turned into a police inquiry. Faria was summoned to give a statement but did not appear at the station. Both sides were later invited to take part in a virtual conciliation hearing.

As of the report, Marcelo Faria had not publicly commented on the accusations. The case remains under police review following the complaint and witness accounts cited in the official report.
