Cassie No Longer Lives in the U.S. and Has No Plans to Return

Cassie Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, has reportedly moved out of the United States and no longer lives in California, according to court documents filed on May 1 in her lawsuit against male escort Clayton Howard. The filing, obtained by Us Weekly and reported by TMZ, states that the 39-year-old singer is “not a resident of California,” now lives “outside of the United States,” and does not intend to move back. The documents also say it would be more convenient for Cassie to travel to New York, where her legal team is based, rather than flying to California for case-related matters. No further details about her current location were disclosed.
The relocation news comes about a year after Cassie testified in the high-profile criminal case involving her ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs. Diddy was indicted in September 2024 on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty. During the 2025 trial, Cassie gave testimony about the alleged nature of their relationship. The pair dated on and off for 11 years before ending their relationship in 2018.
Cassie had previously filed a civil lawsuit in 2023 accusing Diddy of sexual assault and physical abuse. He denied the claims, and the matter was settled out of court within a day of the filing. In the criminal trial, Diddy was ultimately found guilty on two counts of transportation and acquitted on the remaining charges. He is currently serving a four-year prison sentence.
At the time of the trial, Cassie was pregnant with her and her husband Alex Fine’s third child, a son whose name has not been publicly revealed. The couple also share two daughters, Frankie, 7, and Sunny, 3. Fine supported Cassie during the proceedings and later praised her strength in a statement shared in May 2025, saying he felt proud of her and angry that she had been forced to relive her past in court.
Cassie has since appeared focused on her family and moving forward after a difficult chapter tied to her long legal and personal history with Combs.
