OREO and BTS Launch Limited-Edition Cookie: Flavor, Release Date and Key Details

Oreo and BTS have announced a limited-edition global collaboration that brings the K-pop group’s influence to one of the world’s most recognizable snacks. The “OREO & BTS Cookies” mark BTS’s first-ever global snack partnership and will launch in more than 80 markets. The release is inspired by Korean flavors and features a hotteok-style brown sugar pancake taste, a nod to a popular street snack in Korea.
A standout feature of the collaboration is the cookie design. For the first time in Oreo’s history, the cookies will come with purple wafers, a color strongly associated with BTS and its fan community, ARMY. The package includes 13 different embossment designs created by the members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. The designs were developed to honor BTS’s 13th anniversary in June and include individual member names, the BTS light stick, and a set of three cookies that together form a hidden message when collected.
The members shared that the collaboration reflects both their cultural roots and their long relationship with Oreo. Jin said the goal was to introduce dessert flavors that Koreans enjoy, while J-Hope noted that the cookie closely captures the taste of hotteok, saying it feels authentic to the street food. Jimin praised the product’s appearance as well as its flavor, saying it looks especially well made. BTS also described the partnership as an honor, noting that Oreo has been part of their lives since childhood and that they are proud to share a taste of home with fans around the world.
The campaign also includes a fan participation element. Beginning June 8, consumers can scan a QR code on the packaging or visit the campaign website to contribute to what Oreo is calling “the world’s largest love letter to BTS.” The digital project will be built from fan submissions, with participants eligible to win BTS and Oreo prizes. The concept connects to BTS’s earlier global campaign centered on fan engagement and the hashtag #WhatIsYourLoveSong.
Oreo said the partnership is meant to unite BTS’s global fanbase with Oreo’s audience through a shared cultural moment. The company described the collaboration as part of its effort to remain relevant in pop culture while building on its long history of brand partnerships. BTS joins a select group of artists who have created custom Oreo flavors, following previous collaborations with musicians such as Selena Gomez and Post Malone.
The OREO x BTS Cookies will be available for pre-sale on June 1 through Oreo’s website, with a wider retail launch set for June 8. The cookies will be sold for $5.49 per pack. Given BTS’s global popularity and the limited nature of the release, strong demand is expected as fans look to secure the collectible product early.
