Monday Night Forecast: Light to Moderate Rain Expected, See the Outlook for the Coming Days

According to Rio’s Alerta Rio monitoring system, the city of Rio de Janeiro will see mostly cloudy skies late Monday afternoon and evening, June 1, 2026, with a weak cold front moving over the ocean bringing a chance of isolated light to moderate rain at night. During the day, cloud cover gradually increased, but no rain was recorded. Winds remained light to moderate, while temperatures stayed close to the previous day’s levels. The lowest temperature was 15.5°C, recorded at 7:00 a.m. at the Jacarepaguá station operated by INMET, and the highest was 28.3°C, recorded at 8:50 a.m. at the Jardim Botânico station monitored by Alerta Rio.
The forecast for Tuesday, June 2, 2026, calls for mostly cloudy skies and isolated light to moderate rain at any time, as the ocean-front cold system continues to move and moisture from the Atlantic is carried toward the mainland. Winds are expected to range from light to moderate.
From Wednesday, June 3, through Friday, June 5, the weather in Rio is expected to remain influenced by humid air entering the region. Skies should be cloudy to partly cloudy, with isolated light rain possible at any time. On Wednesday, some localized moderate rain may also occur. Winds are expected to remain moderate throughout the period.
The conditions suggest a stretch of unstable weather for the city, with persistent cloudiness and intermittent rain chances over several days. Even though rainfall was absent during most of Monday, the approach and movement of the cold front are likely to keep the atmosphere moist and favor occasional showers through the middle of the week.
