Matt Damon and Emily Blunt’s Neighborly Connection Revealed — Inside the Star-Studded Home That’s Turning Heads

Matt Damon and Emily Blunt have worked together in The Adjustment Bureau and Oppenheimer, and they also live in the same Brooklyn Heights apartment building, with Damon’s home located a few floors above Blunt’s. Blunt recently discussed the unusual neighbor arrangement during an appearance on Today, where she laughed at a video of Damon asking who her favorite co-star living in the apartment above her might be. Blunt joked about one perk of having Damon upstairs: he allows her to take her dogs up to his private roof area to use it as a place for them to pee. The comment highlighted the close and comfortable friendship between the two actors.

Damon’s residence is a $16.7 million triplex penthouse he purchased in 2018. The 6,200-square-foot Brooklyn Heights property includes six bedrooms and a private rooftop terrace with views of New York Harbor and Manhattan. Blunt and her husband, John Krasinski, bought a full-floor apartment in the same building for $11 million in 2019, after deciding to move from Hollywood to New York to focus more on family life.

Their shared building also became part of a behind-the-scenes Oppenheimer story. Damon has said director Christopher Nolan was briefly concerned that filming conversations with Damon and Blunt in the same apartment on the same day might make it seem like Nolan was only casting actors who lived in the same building. The concern turned out to be unfounded.

Although both actors have busy schedules, fans would likely welcome another collaboration between them. Their professional chemistry has been evident on screen, and their off-screen friendship appears just as strong. For now, they remain notable neighbors in one of Brooklyn’s most desirable luxury buildings. Damon and Blunt also have upcoming projects in 2026: Blunt’s Disclosure Day is in theaters now, while Damon’s The Odyssey is scheduled to open on July 17.
