Heidi Montag Says She Couldn’t Love Husband Spencer Pratt More After His L.A. Mayoral Race Loss

Heidi Montag publicly backed husband Spencer Pratt after his defeat in the Los Angeles mayoral race, saying she “couldn’t love” him more and calling him “an inspiration” and “a hero.” Montag shared the message on X on June 14, 2026, shortly after results showed Pratt had been eliminated from contention as City Council member Nithya Raman advanced to second place behind incumbent Karen Bass and secured a spot in the November runoff.
Montag’s post underscored the couple’s long-running pattern of mutual support. The pair, who married in 2008, have often spoken openly about how they divide responsibilities and encourage each other’s careers. In April, Montag told Us Weekly that Pratt had been a major reason for her growing music career and that she would not be where she is without him. She described the work involved in building her music business as far more than just performing, saying there was extensive behind-the-scenes effort involved.
Pratt has also praised Montag’s role in supporting their family. In late May, he told Us Weekly that Montag was working extremely hard to release new music and help provide for their two sons, Gunner and Ryker. He said she was effectively acting as the family’s primary breadwinner while continuing to pursue her career. Their comments reflected a relationship they both describe as a partnership built on shared effort, sacrifice, and loyalty.
Despite losing the mayoral race, Pratt made clear that he is not done with politics or public campaigning. In a video posted to X after the results were announced, he said his mission to “save Los Angeles” would continue, describing the end of the campaign as the start of a new phase. He framed the loss not as a retreat but as a transition to a more outspoken role.
In the video, Pratt said he had spent much of the campaign criticizing opponents and exposing what he views as corruption. He suggested that, without the pressure of an active campaign, he would now speak more freely and intensify his criticism of institutions he opposes. His remarks indicated that he sees his political effort as broader than an election bid and intends to remain visible in public debate.
Pratt’s campaign drew attention largely because of his unusual approach and media profile rather than political experience. Still, the aftermath of the race highlighted the continued support he receives from Montag, who made it clear that the loss had not changed how she views her husband. Her message positioned him as someone she admires not just for his campaign but for his determination and persistence.
The couple’s public comments also reflected a broader effort to present their marriage as a strong partnership balancing family life, career ambitions, and public scrutiny. Even as Pratt’s bid for office came to an end, Montag’s tribute suggested that, for their household, the outcome was less important than the commitment behind the attempt.
