“Gás do Povo” Payments Made This Wednesday (10); See Schedule – 06/08/2026 – Economy

Caixa Econômica Federal will release a new round of benefits from the Gás do Povo program on Wednesday, June 10. The payment is made on the 10th of every month, even when the date falls on a weekend or holiday. The program replaces the former Auxílio Gás and now provides free refills of 13 kg cooking gas cylinders instead of cash payments.

To qualify, families must be registered in CadÚnico, have monthly income of up to half a minimum wage per person, and keep their data updated within the past 24 months. Priority is given to Bolsa Família recipients. The responsible family member must also have no issues or irregularities in their CPF.

The benefit is targeted at households with at least two people. Families with two or three members are entitled to up to four refills per year. Families with four or more members can receive up to six refills annually. The vouchers are not cumulative, meaning unused benefits do not carry over to the next cycle.

To use the benefit, the family representative must go to a participating gas retailer and present proof of eligibility. Accepted forms include the Bolsa Família chip card, a Caixa debit card, or the CPF plus a validation code sent to the registered mobile phone. The exchange is completed directly at accredited points of sale.

Each voucher has a limited validity period from the date it becomes available. For households with two or three people, the voucher remains valid for three months. For households with four or more people, validity is two months.

Families can check whether they qualify and locate the nearest participating retailer through the Meu Social – Gás do Povo app, the Caixa Citizen Portal, or by calling 121, the hotline of the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance. Participating retailers must follow official visual identification rules, which will appear on storefronts, cylinders, vehicles, and communication materials. The app also helps beneficiaries find approved sales locations near their homes.
