Baywatch 2026 Cast Revealed: 16 New Actors Join, 4 Original Stars Return

A “Baywatch” reboot is moving forward at Fox, with filming underway and a debut planned for the 2026-2027 broadcast season. The revival was first ordered to series in March 2024 and later received a 12-episode order in September 2025, setting the stage for its January 2027 premiere on the network. Production began in mid-March 2026 and has continued across beach locations as well as sound stages in Los Angeles.
The new series revisits the world of the classic lifeguard drama with a fresh generation at the center. According to the synopsis, Hobie Buchannon, the spirited son from the original series, is now a Baywatch captain like his father Mitch once was. His life changes when Charlie, the daughter he never knew, arrives and hopes to join the family tradition as a Baywatch lifeguard. The reboot also brings back Cody Madison, an original series heartthrob who now operates The Shoreline, a Baywatch bar-and-grill that serves as a gathering place for lifeguards. In addition to mentoring the team, Cody still occasionally suits up to help save lives and is known for treating the crew to free wings after major rescues.
The reboot is being led by Matt Nix, who serves as showrunner and executive producer. McG is directing the pilot episode. As filming continues, attention has turned to the cast, with several actors already announced for the series, including some familiar faces from the original “Baywatch.” There are also reports of additional performers spotted on set who have not yet been officially confirmed by the production.
The original “Baywatch” became one of television’s most recognizable global hits, known for its beachside action, lifeguard rescues, and ensemble cast. Fox’s reboot aims to update that formula while preserving the franchise’s familiar setting, family connections, and high-energy tone. By centering the story on Hobie and a new generation of lifeguards, the series appears designed to blend nostalgia with a modern drama format.
With production active and the cast still expanding, the reboot remains one of Fox’s more notable upcoming scripted projects. More announcements about the ensemble and first-look details are expected as the series moves closer to its 2027 launch.
