Aubrey Plaza Stuns in Chanel Maternity Look at Red Carpet Debut with Christopher Abbott

Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott made their red carpet debut as a couple at this year’s Tony Awards, arriving together at Radio City Music Hall just weeks after confirming they are expecting their first child. Abbott attended the event as a nominee for his performance in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, while Plaza supported him in a sleek maternity look that drew attention for its understated elegance.

Plaza wore a black Chanel dress from the brand’s Coco Beach capsule collection. The sleeveless design featured thin white straps with small metal accents shaped like Chanel’s double-C logo, along with narrow white stripes across the silky fabric. The look combined simplicity with a graphic feel, echoing the polished style direction seen in recent Chanel collections. She paired the dress with low-heeled black leather sandals and kept her accessories refined, adding a diamond-covered Effy Jewelry ring and pointed hoop earrings. A deep red manicure gave the outfit a subtle pop of color while keeping the overall look classic and minimal.

Abbott complemented Plaza’s style in a custom Thom Browne suit. His outfit included a black velvet tuxedo jacket with grosgrain trim, pleated kid mohair trousers, and black leather Chelsea boots. He completed the ensemble with a white oxford satin-weave shirt and a black neck tie, creating a formal, sharp look that matched Plaza’s minimalist palette without feeling overly coordinated.

Together, the pair presented a polished example of couples dressing on the red carpet, with their outfits connected by clean lines, dark tones, and rich textures. Their appearance marked a public milestone in their relationship, which first became visible earlier this spring when Plaza announced her pregnancy. The Tony Awards outing was their first red carpet appearance as a couple.

Although Abbott did not win in his nominated category, Death of a Salesman was one of the night’s biggest winners. The production earned six Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Play and Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for Laurie Metcalf. Other productions recognized during the ceremony included The Lost Boys, Ragtime, Schmigadoon!, and Cats: The Jellicle Ball.

Plaza and Abbott’s appearance stood out not only for the significance of their first official outing together, but also for the way their style balanced glamour and restraint. Plaza’s chic maternity fashion and Abbott’s tailored formalwear made them one of the evening’s most photographed couples, adding a personal highlight to a night centered on Broadway achievement.
