Live Score Updates: Arkansas Softball Faces Nebraska in Women’s College World Series

Arkansas opened its first Women’s College World Series appearance with a matchup against Nebraska on Thursday night at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, with the Razorbacks aiming to start the tournament with a win. Nebraska, meanwhile, entered the game in its first WCWS appearance since 2013 and brought national player of the year Jordy Frahm into the circle. The game drew attention as a milestone moment for both programs, especially for Arkansas under coach Courtney Deifel.
The Razorbacks’ lineup showed early life at the plate. Reagan Johnson led off the first inning with a single for Arkansas, but she was left stranded at second base as Nebraska escaped the frame without allowing a run. Nebraska also had an early opportunity when Frahm opened the bottom of the first with a leadoff single, but Arkansas starter Robyn Herron settled in and kept the Huskers off the board. After one inning, the game remained scoreless.
Arkansas eventually broke through in the top of the inning when Kailey Wyckoff connected on a two-run home run off Frahm to give the Razorbacks a 2-0 lead. The homer marked a major early swing in a game featuring two teams making significant postseason statements on one of college softball’s biggest stages.
The matchup followed a busy opening day in Oklahoma City, where Alabama defeated UCLA 6-3 to advance in the winners’ bracket. That result set the stakes for Arkansas and Nebraska, with the winner moving on to face UCLA and the loser falling into a pressure-packed elimination path that would begin the next day.
The Arkansas-Nebraska game was scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, May 28, though the first pitch was pushed slightly later, with the video board showing an 8:36 p.m. start. The game aired on ESPN2 and was also available to stream on Fubo for subscribers. Coverage centered on live score updates, stats, and highlights as the Razorbacks attempted to make history in their WCWS debut.
The 2026 Women’s College World Series schedule featured four opening games on Thursday, May 28: Texas Tech vs. Mississippi State at 11 a.m., Texas vs. Tennessee at 1:30 p.m., UCLA vs. Alabama at 6 p.m., and Arkansas vs. Nebraska at 8:30 p.m. CT. The tournament then continued through the weekend with elimination games on Friday, winners’ bracket games on Saturday, and additional elimination and championship round play scheduled for Sunday and Monday, June 1, including if-necessary contests.
For Arkansas, the moment represented the beginning of an important chapter in the program’s rise. For Nebraska, it was a chance to make a long-awaited return to the WCWS stage. With both teams carrying strong momentum and standout pitchers in the circle, the game delivered the kind of postseason tension that defines Oklahoma City in late May.
