Euphoria Star’s Viral Video Shows Tense Exchange With Fan

A video of actor Jacob Elordi has gone viral after an encounter with a fan in Japan sparked debate online about celebrity boundaries and public behavior. The footage, posted on Instagram by Otavio Bittencourt, shows him approaching Elordi on a busy street and greeting him casually before placing a hand on the actor’s back while asking for a selfie. Elordi, appearing uncomfortable with the contact, turned around and told him, “Don’t touch me, bro.”
The clip quickly spread across social media after Bittencourt captioned it, “Just wanted a picture chief.” Reactions were sharply divided. Many users criticized Elordi’s response as rude, arguing that the fan was only asking for a photo and that the situation could have been handled more calmly. Others defended the actor, saying the issue was not the selfie request itself but the unsolicited physical contact. Supporters said public figures still deserve personal space and should not be touched without consent, especially when they are off duty and moving freely in public.
The incident has also drawn attention to Elordi’s long-running reputation for setting firm boundaries with fans and photographers. In December 2025, he reportedly clashed with a photographer at Gare du Nord in Paris after being called out while passing through the station with security. According to reports, Elordi reacted strongly after the photographer repeatedly expressed admiration, telling him, “You make it really hard for me to live,” and later adding, “I don’t love you. You make it really hard for me to live.”
That was not the first time Elordi’s public interactions made headlines. In early 2024, he was accused of grabbing a radio producer by the throat during an encounter in Sydney. The exchange reportedly began after the producer made a joke referencing a Saltburn scene and asked Elordi to fill a container with bathwater. The incident was captured on camera, and the producer later described the confrontation on Australian radio. He said Elordi became aggressive after asking for the footage to be deleted, allegedly pushing him against a wall and grabbing his throat. Police said at the time that the matter was under investigation.
The Japan clip adds to a pattern of viral moments that have fueled discussion about how celebrities should respond to fans and how much access the public should expect from them. For some viewers, Elordi’s blunt reaction reflects frustration with constant attention and a desire to protect his privacy. For others, it reinforces an image of the actor as hostile or dismissive in public. The online response shows how quickly a brief street interaction can become a larger conversation about consent, fame, and respect.
