Singaporean households can claim S$500 CDC vouchers starting June 11

Singapore households can claim and use S$500 in Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers from Thursday, June 11, after the government brought forward the distribution from January 2027 to help families manage cost pressures amid uncertainty linked to the Middle East conflict. The latest tranche, announced at Budget 2026, will cost S$700.07 million and is expected to benefit about 1.38 million Singaporean households. The vouchers will be valid until December 31, 2027.

As with previous rounds, the S$500 is split equally: half can be spent at more than 24,000 participating hawkers and heartland merchants, while the other half can be used at participating supermarkets. The scheme is intended both to ease everyday expenses for households and to support small local businesses in neighbourhoods across Singapore.

At the launch on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong said the economic impact of the Middle East conflict has so far been less severe than initially feared. He noted that Singapore’s core inflation eased to 1.4 per cent year-on-year in April, down from 1.7 per cent in March. However, he warned that the situation remains fluid and that the government is prepared to provide additional support if needed.

Mr Gan, who is also Minister for Trade and Industry and chair of the Singapore Economic Resilience Taskforce, said the government will continue monitoring developments closely. He said imported cost pressures are expected to rise in the coming months as higher energy and input costs filter through global supply chains, which could push inflation higher later in the year.

The CDC voucher programme remains a key part of Singapore’s efforts to help households cope with living costs while also driving spending toward local merchants. South West District Mayor Low Yen Ling said the January 2026 tranche has seen strong uptake, with 94.5 per cent of the vouchers claimed. Of those claimed, 80.1 per cent have already been used.

Ms Low said about S$151 million from that tranche has been spent at hawkers and heartland merchants, while about S$158 million has gone to supermarkets. She said the high utilisation rate shows that the CDC voucher scheme is both useful and accessible to Singaporeans.

As of June 3, more than S$4.64 billion has been spent across eight tranches of CDC vouchers and two tranches of SG60 vouchers, according to Ms Low. The latest round adds to a broad-based support effort that combines immediate cost-of-living relief with backing for local businesses.
