Palace Declares Local Holidays for June

Malacañang has declared a series of special non-working days in several cities, municipalities, and provinces across the Philippines in June 2026 to give residents time to join local celebrations and commemorations.
Under Proclamation No. 1273, June 3 has been declared a special non-working day in the municipality of Ayungon, Negros Oriental, in line with its 102nd township anniversary. The following day, June 4, will be a special non-working day in Santa Cruz, Laguna for the celebration of the Kesong Puti Festival, one of the town’s notable cultural events.
On June 6, the province of Zamboanga del Norte will observe a special non-working day as it marks its 74th founding anniversary. Another local holiday will follow on June 9 in Rosario, Batangas, where residents will commemorate the municipality’s founding anniversary.
The Palace also declared June 15 a special non-working day in Pampanga to mark the 35th anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption, a significant date in the province’s history. This will be followed by June 17, which has been set as a special non-working day in Lapu-Lapu City for its 65th charter anniversary under Proclamation No. 1276.
Several areas will likewise observe special non-working days on June 18. These include Ambaguio in Nueva Vizcaya, Kalilangan in Bukidnon, Carmen in Davao del Norte, Presentacion in Camarines Sur, Calintaan in Occidental Mindoro, and San Fernando in Bukidnon. The declaration allows each locality to celebrate its respective civic or local milestones.
Under Proclamation No. 1278, June 19 has been declared a special non-working day in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, in connection with its charter anniversary. Meanwhile, Proclamation No. 1259 sets June 23 as a special non-working day in Tabuk City, Kalinga, for its founding anniversary.
The month’s list of local observances ends with June 24, when the municipality of Tiaong, Quezon will have a special non-working day for its town fiesta.
The declarations highlight the government’s recognition of local history, culture, and community celebrations, giving residents the opportunity to take part in events that honor their town and city identities.
